Sunset before the hurricane

I was eating dinner Friday evening before Hurricane Lee arrived in Portland and saw clouds tinged a strange shade of mauve out of the bay window. Since none of the windows in my apartment face west, I’m always on the lookout for slight variations in light that could indicate a beautiful sunset (or rainbow). I ran outside and captured these photos as the sky progressed from cotton candy wisps to fluorescent orange.
